deal with the fold-back effect

this might be a bug and with high radiation it might be even a dangerous one.
i've no idea whether our pulse detection circuitry could deal with lower amplitude pulses.
i guess we could notice this effect by a very high rate of HV charging pulses. fold-back effect would cause this and i guess also humidity or a short-circuit would cause this.
if we never get to the HV capacitor full state (400V), the status display already has some indication, it will display 7 instead of H. but i guess we need something better noticable.
to test this, someone would need to be able to do high-radiation tests. who can help with that?
