⚠️ maintainer required ⚠️
@jpwsutton I see several pull request which are not merged and not commented, maybe you add an additional maintainer to this repo, to have some progress here ?
As follow up from https://github.com/eclipse/paho.mqtt.android/pull/354#issuecomment-609398481 I see a maintainer is definitly required, otherwise this project is dead
I see @icraggs is responsible for this decision
@hannesa2 I had brought up this point with @icraggs yesterday when I had a call with him. Could you signup in https://mattermost.eclipse.org so so that we can discuss in direct messaging we use for Eclipse projects.
I'm there ...

Please get this sorted out... This project is in desperate need of some maintenance! Especially the subscription feature is practically unusable under newer Android versions (just looses the connection after a short while - even when it reconnects, it doesn't resubscribe to the topics...). Unfortunately I am to dumb to use the newer Java client, so I am in desperate need of having this fixed...

Will it help by keeping the software always in the foreground?

I talked to @icraggs in April. I'm/was willing to do some maintenance here, but the outcome was that @icraggs will "oberserve" the repo and do the maintenance by himself. -RIP-
Any news on a new / another maintainer? Would be great to see that project will stay alive ...

I collect all pull requests, give it a try https://github.com/hannesa2/paho.mqtt.android/releases
I think since @hannesa2's fork is much, much more active; this repo should perhaps be archived and people redirected there.
