MQTT Bridge Reconnection – Initial Data Loss Observed
Scenario Description: We have established a bridge connection between two MQTT brokers to facilitate data exchange. Under normal operation, data flows seamlessly between both brokers through the bridge.
Issue Observed: When the bridge connection is temporarily disconnected and then re-established, the data accumulated on one MQTT broker during the disconnection period is successfully transmitted to the second broker upon reconnection. However, it has been observed that approximately the first 6 seconds of data generated during the disconnection period is missing after the bridge reconnects.
Impact: This data loss during the initial 6 seconds after reconnection indicates a potential issue in the MQTT broker’s bridging or message retention mechanism.
