Deploy to maven central?

If I go to

https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.eclipse.lemminx/org.eclipse.lemminx/0.28.0

it says:

Note: this artifact is located at Eclipse Releases repository (https://repo.eclipse.org/content/groups/releases/)

is there any reason to not deploy it to maven-central directly? This is usually more accessible (e.g. no additional repositories need to be configured).
