✨ [DB] Added support for MariaDB/MySQL and adapted QA to different DBMS

This PR add specific support for MariaDB and MySQL (in place of h2) and refactors the code to be more extensible to different types of DBMS. Specifically, this is done for the test code. Adeguate documentation has been also inserted for contributors
