[M5Launcher] LilyGo T-Deck Plus - MicroHydra not launching

Open electr0nnn opened this issue 2 months ago • 4 comments

I have a Cardputer v1.1 and it works great, but noticed T-DECK PLUS I just upgraded to seems to have issues, I am currently going to try to use the frozen in files on SD with MicroPython as a firmware through M5Launcher to see if that may fix it, I may want to do that in the future anyway but using the frozen firmware would've been great. Not sure what I can do to help.

I looked at Issue #77 and I thought I was close to fixing it, if I figure something out before anyone else I'll post something here.

What kind of issues are you having specifically? And did you erase the flash when installing it?

I'll check today maybe I cleared the flash incorrectly but initially I used web flasher and I thought it actually erased, going to try using Thonny to try and wipe and reload it using MicroPython and the frozen files

Yeah, no matter how I install MicroHydra via M5Launcher, vanilla MicroPython too, and just straight from Thonny, I seem to be stuck in a bootloop for the MicroHydra bin and or Thonny with MicroPython seems to be broken when it comes to Thonny Backend errors when trying to do it the vanilla MicroPython route. I feel like I am sort of close though, sucks, I was really looking forward to all the cardputer stuff working on my ESP32-S3 on my T-Deck, but I am now realizing maybe having to port display and keyboard input would be a challenge? I also even tried previous versions, I am not sure how far back I have to go to find which MicroPython/MicroHydra will work with my T-Deck Plus or Thonny is just screwed up. I switched back to Windows I will try again on Linux using other methods I presume.

If you ignore MicroHydra completely, are you able to at least get a Micropython repl from within Thonny after installing Micropython to the device?

If you do get a working Micropython repl, then it would potentially point to some issue with MicroHydra specifically. But if you can't get a working repl, then I think something is going wrong with the install.
