Zero-G Room

Open Airomis opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Describe the feature request

This room will be similar to the gravity wells we have in connecting floors of the TARDIS.

The room would be a cylinder with floor and top at max chunk height. At the ARS grid level ( entering and exiting ) the normal piston doors would be there with a balcony on each of the 4 sides connected around the outer edge, one each side. There could be a ladder that is against the wall should a bug happen when players are coming in and out of the room/s.

Features of the room:

  • The room will be a single chunk reaching to the top and bottom, in the center of the room there could be a peace of obsidian or some other block marking the top and bottom center.
  • When a player grows a Zero-G room on top or on the bottom of an existing Zero-G room the top / bottom will be removed to allow the cylinder to extend to the next chunk.
  • the room will have a block that prevents all blocks from being mined out ( prevent abuse ).
  • When a player enters the room they can get the ability to fly up and down between the levels ( flight could be similar to how we fly the exterior TARDIS or a creative flight system ).
  • When the player enters or exits the room and triggers the pressure plate to open the doors inside the chunk the flight would be disabled ( I think WG can give a flag for flight also with the edges of the chunk being the bounding box of the flag ).
  • If a player wants to grow the room outside the ARS grid the standard seed block system will work as well as when being placed on the obsidian in the center of the room ( top and bottom ) .

This would not replace the current gravity and anti gravity wells unless you want to.

Describe alternatives you've considered

A stair case room that would work in a similar way.

I like the eternal staircase room idea better...

In that case I would do 4 spiral cases up and down from each door to top and bottom of the chunk to allow the modules to link and have a bridge connection between the doors making an X to allow elytra players to fly up and down
