Footage / hasFootage?

Open RendersKoen opened this issue 4 months ago • 2 comments

Hi, since I don't want to contest the decision taken in https://github.com/ebu/ebucoreplus/issues/267, I thought its best to create a new issue:

Is there currently any way to describe raw material as an editorial object? I think it's good to have Footage removed from EditorialExtra, but I'm currently missing it in EbuCorePlus. Also the relationship between raw material and an editorial work or group is a specific one.

So I would propose to have Footage as a subclass of EditorialWork hasFootage as property between EditorialObject and Footage. (inverse isFootageFor or something)

What do you think?

Giving it some thought...

The issue might be that Footage doesn't really comply with the definition of an Asset (in that it is not as such intended for publication or consumption) So maybe it can be viewed as a type of resource.

On the other hand, Footage can have content descriptions like keywords, rights, gdpr restrictions that don't seem available for Resource objects.

So not sure how to tackle this.

Hi, Just noticed the won't fix solution. How would one tackle this within EbuCorePlus?

Just use ec:EditorialWork ec:hasObjectType ec:EditorialObjectType vrtskos:Footage or something?

ec:hasRelatedEditorialWork as relationship?

I'm hesitating to create a custom class.
