[FEATURE REQUEST] - Update channels / Random rollout

What problem does the feature request solve? Adding an update channel / random rollout would allow users to receive updates and report bugs whilst only affecting a smaller number of users.

An update channel could be a switch that allows people to opt-in to potentially unstable releases. Random rollout would guarantee people would receive the update, although may have unwanted effects.
