10bit Bicubic Downscaling

10bit files which get downscaled with the bicubic filter show some subtle blurriness. Downscaling 8bit files with the bicubic filter don't show this behaviour.

I downscaled a 1920p picture to 1080p, made a screenshot and cropped a 540p picture, so everyone can compare the result with the same pixel density without any scaling distortion.

Open the pictures in new tabs and switch with ctrl+PgUp and ctrl+PgDw. It's clearly visible around the eyes and lips.
