Toggle Extension icon not showing in status bar

Type: Bug

  1. Install extension
  2. Set up a new project in existing direcotry asking you to remove all files
  3. After removing all files (.vscode), status bar icon dissapears and can't be enabled via settings toggle or json

Extension version: 2023.4.1012 VS Code version: Code 1.83.1 (Universal) (f1b07bd25dfad64b0167beb15359ae573aecd2cc, 2023-10-10T23:46:55.789Z) OS version: Darwin x64 23.0.0 Modes:

Same problem for me - the icon to toggle is not showing up, even with the pre-release version. It is a very annoying issue.
