To help you out a bit (I hope at least :D):

If you sourced openttd.grf from https://github.com/OpenTTD/OpenTTD/tree/release/0.4/data or similar, it also falls under the GPLv2 license. So as long as your whole repository is licensed under GPLv2, you are free to use openttd.grf :)

This basically holds true for any file you find in https://github.com/OpenTTD/OpenTTD . As long as you follow the contract set out by GPLv2, you are free to use it in your own port :)
