Transcript works, but skips presentation
Context: I am a high school teacher working virtually, and I am trying to streamline a process for teachers to create video content with Spanish subtitles to serve and support our EL (ESL) students. I found your transcript extension, and it looks like Screencastify will let me upload a transcript to a video, and it will also translate it. However, when I tried just now, I got this transcript:
11:00 You: I want to see what that sounds like with these other loops. So I can actually play this and then I can kind of test drive these different guitar patterns and see how they sound.
11:00 Your Presentation: skip
11:00 You: music project together If you can be fast with this stuff, it's going to make the process. Smoother for everybody. So like if you have a vocalist come in and you're going to record them for a project. If they don't have to sit around and wait while you like fumble around with all these like edit menus and all this kind of crazy stuff. It's going to make the whole process smoother. It's going to be more musical.
Is there a way to NOT skip the presentation? Also, is there an error that leaves the time stamp as 11:00 throughout?
I apologize for questions that might be rudimentary, I am not a coder, just a teacher trying to take care of our students and ensure they do not fall behind while we are virtual. Any insight or help would be extremely useful right now.
Hi @MurrayBelaireHigh, thanks for your question! Hopefully I can get this working for you.
The tool relies on closed captions that Google Meet provides in the meeting. That means if you can see Google Meet transcribing the presentation when you turn closed captions on, I can find a way to include those for you. If you can't see closed captions for the presentation, I won't be able to because I don't actually do any of the speech-to-text heavy lifting in this extension.
Let me know what you find -- and if you need help determining this just follow up and let me know that.
