The build system doesn't take any advantage of parallelism, thus artificially limiting build time.

Secondary issue: male install target is not parallel-safe (can produce a compile log if needed)

Can you file the parallel safety thing as a separate bug? They're 2 very different issues...

DYLAN_JOBS was added in 2019 but only affects linking as far as I know.
