Research: What is the most intuitive way of displaying multiple calendars on one page?

Open nelsonic opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

There are quite a few ways of sharing calendars among teams however there is no "standard" way (Which is why http://doodle.com/ is still so popular... )

We need to spend some time researching the available options and taking screenshots so we have a UI mood-board

  • https://teamweek.com/ appear to be partially solving the problem - what are they doing right?

I like teamwork's design, simple, minimal and having the layout as one continuous line makes sense for large teams as opposed to a traditional calendar grid.

A day view where the x-axis is each team member, and y-axis is the time. Each segmented vertical blue line represents a person's schedule. The horizontal time blocks could be coloured in a scale of green -> red which indicates more or less team availability, respectively.

The month view could look like so:

OR

Where the same scale of green -> red for availability applies. The thin day-view lines is one way to simplify the view when many, many people's schedules need to be examined.
