Deskband does not resize when small taskbar buttons is enabled

Version of SharpShell used: 2.7.2

I've set HasVariableHeight and VerticalSizingIncrement, documented here, but unfortunately my deskband does not become smaller when I use "small taskbar buttons" for my taskbar (see image).

How can I allow my deskband to resize according to the size of the taskbar?
