catalog_product_entity_varchar instead of catalog_product_entity_text

I'm trying to use Magmi v0.7.22 to overwrite some product data in Magento 1.9.3, however it appears to be causing corruption. For example, short description values are being entered in catalog_product_entity_varchar instead of catalog_product_entity_text, which I'm told is incorrect.

Also, how do I force the data to be entered into store ID 0 rather than 1 which is happening at the moment.
