Not working with Sonoma?

Open nynewco opened this issue 1 year ago • 21 comments

I installed it but I can't see any divider in the menu bar and even when I drag an icon all the way to the left, it does not disappear or get hidden?

Am I doing something wrong?

  1. Increase your resolution. Some items get hidden behind the notch if the screen resolution is too low.
  2. Move the separator icon over to the right somewhere
  3. Change your resolution back

@ctruett still no separator icon in the bar when I change resolution :( I currently use command and drag the items i dont need behind the notch, so the whole row shifts to the right. Not pretty but works for now

@hornhaut you can try e.g. Dozer, Ice (i am using currently). Free, opensource and works.

Hidden Bar 1.8 (12) from AppStore works for me on Mac Mini (M1) with macOS Sonoma (14.5) and external display (without notch). Hidden Bar 1.9 (13) from GitHub releases is works, too. Both version collapses icons only when arrow icon is to the right of the separator icon (| >, not > |) .

Had the same issue, the latest macOS Sonoma 14.5 fixed it. Hidden bar started working as expected after OS update.

Unfortunately I encountered this problem as well. I'm running Sonoma 14.5. I tried logging in and out and changing my screen resolution to see more of the bar. Neither helped.

I had the same problem. Changing the resolution and enabling "Use the full menu bar when expanding" solved the problem and enabled "Always hidden".

Same issue here with Macbook M3 Sonoma: I can see the arrow but not the vertical divider.

I tried the Mac Appstore version and the Homebrew version. Same issue. Tried to reboot. Same.

I am having the same issue with 14.4 and the Mac App Store version (1.8)

I was having a similar issue. The Hidden Bar ended up being invisible.

I moved the angle bracket to the far left and realized there was a space between the angle bracket and the last icon. I clicked on the space and I could move it. I then placed the angle bracket correctly and it worked.

A little later, I quickly clicked the angle bracket on/off several times, and the hidden bar was visible.

Not sure what the issue was but it works now.

+1 on this one. Sonema 14.5 M1. No "|" or "<" shown.

Works fine on Sonoma 14.7.1 with Apple Silicon.

The issue here for me was I was right clicking on the wrong icon, mostly because the helper tool tip is missing the icons image

You just need to right-click on the icon with the arrow (<) or two-finger tap on the trackpad

Sequoia 15.5 M not working. Vertical not visible and right click on < makes it blink but nothing appears.
