Would it be possible to add a second bar so only items inside of both bars would get hidden?

Describe the bug

Currently, the hidden icons always have to be at the end of the menu bar but this causes a problem. Items like location services always appear at the end of the menu bar so it gets hidden as well, this is annoying because I want to be able to see if location services are being used and I can't since it gets hidden along with the other items.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have Hidden Bar collapsed
  2. Open an app that uses location services like maps
  3. Notice you can't see the icon (even if you had moved it outside of Hidden Bar's area perviously)

Expected behaviour

I'd expect it would be possible to hide only certain icons by having them between two bars, instead of just at the end of the menu bar. Since this would allow the location service icon to always be shown. Another pssoible solution would be to never allow the location services icon to be hidden.

I'm having this same issue and find it rather frustrating. I'm starting to look into other similar applications like Bartender and Vanilla to see if they don't suffer the same annoying feature. Hope it gets fixed soon. (on macoS 11.6)

The trick using to hide icons of the app is created a very long button to put all of buttons on the left out of screen. We can't fix it until find another way.

I don't know whether this may be feasible, but you could add an option to remember applications that always must be shown. Then when you open, say, Maps you could drag the location services icon conveniently just once and Hidden Bar would remember it after you quit Maps. Just a thought.

We can't control position, OS remember it when you Hold Cmd + drag it.

Exactly the same issue, so frustrated that there's no solution now.
