Adding to Favorite

Just starting out and I have my dashboard set up. I wanted to create a custom button to turn off all lights and place it under favorites. The add card button doesn't allow you to add those buttons to favorites and existing entities that you can move, you can't change the entity. It reverts to whatever it was originally. So what am I missing or can you only add existing buttons to favorites and can't add your own.
