Easy switching between edit and view in the right panel

Open tsieger opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

It would be nice to be able to easily switch between view and edit mode in the right panel. To edit a note, I click a note in my Outline and double click the right panel, which changes the panel from view mode to edit mode (Ctrl+e does not work on my Fedora, surprisingly). Is there a way how to easily switch back to the view mode in the right panel when in edit mode? When I want to take a look at how does my note renders, I have to click some other note in my outline and then click my note in the outline - quite an overkill. A shortcut for the switch would be nice, or double click in the editor panel that would switch view mode and edit mode back and forth.

You can close edit mode either with Ctrl+LEFT (saves editor content) or Ctrl-g (doesn't save editor content).

@tsieger Which Fedora version do you use? Which desktop environment? Any keyboard tweaks? (works for me in my Fedora VM).

Thanks. Ctrl+g works fine, but Ctrl+Left simply jumps one word left - it does not save & close.

I'm running Fedora 27, Gnome 3.26.2, and I'm not aware of any keyboard tweaks that would collide with Ctrl+Left or Ctrl+e.
