Tab autofill by spaces?

It would be nice to enable optional auto-filling of Tabs with spaces. Now, Tab inserts a Tab character, but it would be nice if e.g. 4 spaces (as configured) were inserted instead. See also #866.

Can you check menu File/Preferences/Markdown/TABs as SPACEs? @tsieger can you please elaborate on what exactly would you expect? Thanks!

I can't find the TABs as SPACEs option in Markdown. BTW I can't find even File/Preferences - there is Mind/Adapt instead. Am I missing something?
