Check for updates doesn't work (on Mac?)

This same issue is happening to me on a fresh atom install on a new mac. I dont see the package mentioned in that thread in apm so I am a bit lost on how to help solve this on proton

@kidpollo do you have seti-ui or seti-syntax in additional packages? If yes try to remove it and restart atom. Check comment.

I did check! I don't have it. This is a new install
