User-ID not supported?

It seems that the User-ID Feature is missing, am i wrong on that? I would like to transmit a User-ID to GA but and please correct me if im wrong, it isnt possible with the CustomVariable Functions.

Is User-ID a newer feature in Google Analytics? Can you point me at any documentation for it, online?

If you're trying to send a custom variable called User-ID, you can do so. There's an example of sending a user name in the Readme.
