Will this work with a ROS version that is no end of life?

Can I install a newer ROS or ROS2 version? Or do I need to stick with melodic or eloquent? I’d prefer a ROS or ROS2 that is not past end of life.

I noticed there are a few docker files that use noetic and foxy for ROS2 and ROS. Would those work here?

I believe they should work, I can't recall if I explicitly tested ROS2 Foxy before with ros_deep_learning or not.
