On OSX opening the browser as a split results in dead space in the bottom of the window

To reproduce - choose the monokai theme, then click hold the green arrow in the top of the browser so that you're able to have the browser on one have of the screen and another app on the other half. The bottom of the jupyter window will now be blank.

edit

pressing cmd + so that the font enlarges, then cmd - seems to fix this, i'll leave the issue here incase it's of interest though
