Is it possible to register Albite as handler of epub files?

Hi!

My phone's built-in file browser doesn't know how to open epub files even with Albite HD installed. I know that native applications (.sis) can "claim" file extensions. Is that at all possible for Java applications? My phone is a Nokia 5230 running S60 5th edition.

It matters because this phone has only two options regarding reading and writing files: "ask every time" and "not allowed". That includes listing a folder's contents, so every component in the path to an epub file generates a question.

I tried asking Google ("java mobile associate file extension nokia" and "java mobile register file format") but it had no useful answers.
