Auto save feature

I absolutely like your flatnotes. It is super simple to use and it looks awesome.

It is maybe missing an autosave feature, if it doesn't add too much complexity to the code.

Thank you, your work is great!

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you like it.

There is currently a mechanism that stores unsaved changes locally (in the browser). If the note isn't closed properly, then the next time it is opened (on that machine) flatnotes will offer to load from the draft. It isn't particularly good at dealing with large notes (such as those with embedded images) so I would like to swap it out at some point.

I do like the idea of changes being synced back to the server. Maybe with a .draft file extension or something. My only concern is bandwidth usage as, without a potentially complex diff mechanism, I'd have to upload the whole note each time.

I'll mull this over.

Maybe with a .draft file extension or something.

This seems like a logical and simple approach!

My only concern is bandwidth usage

Is this really a concern in 2023 though?

Firstly I would imagine that most uses cases involved using it internally in a home lab or other internal setup where user are on the same LAN. But I could be wrong.

Secondly even if using remotely and even if on cellular we're in an age where most people in most places (though not all admittedly) have relatively high speed cellular connections and large data plans. I would think that if they're concerned about bandwidth enough to care about some text and maybe a few images they they probably aren't even browsing the web on those devices / connections.

Am I missing something?

Perhaps this could be an option that can be turned on or off. This is particularly useful for lists such as shopping.
