Simple when the hunter uses a portal or when leaving a dungeon his pet stays in 0p of life and can not be revived, or cured, or withdrawn, so to bring it back you must disconnect and connect again.

Hunter pets are not working all that great in this source unfortunately, will be quite some time before I have the time to overhaul that.
