Owner not receiving email

We are on bugnet version 1.6.339.0, we have hidden "Owned by " field in New issue screen, When assigned to person is opening the ticket, Owned by field is shown blank. Or is it possible to restrict user to view his name only in "Owned by" field on "New issue" page

Is it possible to hide few custom fields on "New issue" page and let other remain as is
If you set a default value for the owner field in the project settings it will get saved even if the field is hidden.
Custom fields can't be hidden from the create issue page.
Hi thanks for your reply, Kindly correct me if i am wrong, i think owner is the user who is raising the ticket. if i am right in saying that, please find below attachment where owned by field in project setting is hidden, but still when person to whom ticket is assigned opening the ticket "owned by" is not populating automatically. Kindly help, thanks in advance

Owner is open to interpretation and BugNET doesn't assign a value unless you specify a default.
