This issue has been open for six weeks now with no response. Hoping that this comment will attract attention.
Rufus appears to have some issues with regards to reliability. I'm going to change the instructions to point to Balena Etcher instead.
I've purchased an Orange Pi and look forward to implementing this, as an inexpensive alternative to the Raspberry Pi which has now unfortunately become scarce and expensive on the gray...
