Explorer.exe process showing high GPU usage when AudioBand is running

Open izarc6 opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug I've started noticing a degradation of my GPU's performance a while back. Eventually, I saw that it was because of the explorer.exe process. Moreover, it's because AudioBand is on my taskbar. And moreover, it's only when the name of the song is too long, and the option "Overflow - Scroll the text" is active. The issue does not appear when the "Truncate" option is selected.

Version Info

  • Windows 10 Pro, Version 20H2, Build 19042.867
  • AudioBand Version 0.94
  • GPU: NVidia GeForce RTX 2060, Driver v.466.11

Can also confirm this behavior. Traced it to GPU usage, increasing from 1% to 9-10%, and around 4W (seen through Throttlestop). Quite noticeable battery drain (and problematic since i'm on alder lake, with it's inherently known bad battery).

  • Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2, Build 19045.2846
  • AudioBand v1.2.1
  • Dell Latitude 5430 / i5-1235U / Iris Xe Graphics
