I know, I know - I have a finite amount of time to review these things. Where in that patch are we deleting things?

It sounds like we should merge that first. How about we close this PR, merge the tests independently, do that PR, and then revisit these?

The relevant PR still has some minor autotools incompatibilities which need to be fixed so lets hold off on this for now.

@abarret @amneetb I'd like to keep this release date which means we need to create a release branch in a day or two. This means some of the open PRs...
