Feedback from Byron from Gitoxide

  • [ ] Would be good to support .github/funding.yml as well - it would be perfectly compatible and is what I would have expected. Then it would probably show prominently as well.
  • [ ] Hard to discover the ā€˜go to GitHub and create fileā€™ button (but it works)
  • [ ] There are no tooltips
  • [ ] What is outgoing balance? Is there docs on workflows and what it really means?
  • [ ] when claiming a project, it would be good to have a backlink to the drips URL, or make it easy to obtain such URL - for pasting into a commit message. The URL is basically gone when in ā€˜claimā€™ mode.
  • [ ] When claiming GitPython, it didnā€™t notice it was claimed already. When trying again, it told me it was claimed but didnā€™t allow me to get to the project page.
  • [ ] Once in the claim menu, itā€™s impossible to get back to the original page, unless the back button works.
  • [ ] I thought that one could see constantly how itā€™s ā€˜drippingā€™ down, but after collecting there was nothing. Could be a nice ā€˜visualisationā€™, even though it settles only once a week.
  • [ ] Settlement should be synced on the webpage so it tries at least to be precise to the minute. Otherwise it shows the next settlement date even though nothing was settled yet, which can give the impression nothing has happened or there is no funding anymore.
  • [ ] Just now I found https://docs.drips.network/ by following a ā€œlearn moreā€ link or button. And then I was surprised I managed to not find it until now and feel less-well informed for a while.
  • [ ] Is there a way to see the available income outside of the app, with a wallet that it goes to initially? Maybe related to this: https://docs.drips.network/the-protocol/accounts-in-drips
  • [ ] Encouragement to create drips - ideally one can also send in absolute terms instead of percentages.
  • [ ] Ideally even as one-time ā€˜dropā€™ so each dependency can have some no matter how small, which could help with adoption. Drops could also help to spread faster as itā€™s easier to one-time share something that seems like a gift than to share it forever. Small steps, and sharing is quite a large step.
  • [ ] I felt a bit guilty to do 100% maintainers, and I hope to change that once I feel more comfortable. I think this ā€˜state of mindā€™ is common for beginners.
  • [ ] GAS: for starters, it would be great if the gas costs could be covered by the collected funds, to get over the initial hurdle.
  • [ ] Is there a way to see ā€˜the programā€™ execute on the blockchain? Whatā€™s it doing? (or why do things not drip in time?)
  • [ ] change wallet that controls Drips?
