Does not work in IE 11 and Microsoft Edge Browser

I'm using other font icons (Google Material Design Icons font) that work fine. But, monosocialiconsfont does not work.

I just found out that it works "better" if you add -ms-font-feature-settings: "liga" 1; to the .symbol, a.symbol:before selector, but then there's still the problem that some icons don't work (e.g. googleplus among others)

I’m having a related issue with a staging version of a site (http://dploy.cbgclients.com/), where according to a colleague who is testing using Microsoft Edge, the social icons in the Top Bar are not showing up. Instead, the equivalent text that represents the icon (i.e. “f” for Facebook etc) is showing up there instead. IE and Edge are not displaying the social icons.
