can I change the programming language of your project, i.e. use javascript (React) which will allow you to do several new things
Although I have opened this issue, I'd suggest asking Drew (who created the project and is its maintainer) about this. I've no particular issue with this myself as I am still on a learning journey myself and have only just started learning JS but know that Drew has his own ideas about using express.js so you should probably run this past him.

We spent a fair amount of time this evening updating files and setting up express router and created some ejs files. Please check these out to see where we have got to as it has some bearing on this CSS issue as we have used Bootstrap.
