Bug: Minimizing active window loses focus
The minimize function doesn't work properly. It does minimize the window, but the previously selected window doesn't become active. No window is active at that point. It behaves like this when clicking on the active window taskbar button or with right-click and then minimize. When using the minimize button on the active window itself (not part of RetroBar), the focus shifts correctly. Using Alt-Space-N also works correctly.
This last part implies RetroBar does something different to minimize the window instead of just sending the usual minimize action.
I even installed XP in a VM to make sure this wasn't the historical behaviour.
On a side note, thank you for a great product. It's not just about nostalgia, the classic taskbar is actually very functional and so pleasant on the eyes. Good contrast, just the right colors, easy distinction between active and non-active buttons. Back in the days MS actually cared about usability... I was fine with Windows 10 taskbar, but when Windows 11 was forced onto my work laptop, I immediately started to look for an alternative. Microsoft just killed the taskbar functionality completely. RetroBar was like a gulp of fresh air. It even allows to hide network and power systray icons separately, something Win11 cannot do. I also appreciate that the tool doesn't require installation or elevated privileges.
Yes, please fix this! I was going to write the same bug report before I found this. It's so annoying, it's making me want to switch back to the native taskbar until it's resolved. Just to add further clarification:
To reproduce:
- Open any app / window, let's say Notepad for example. Now Notepad is obviously in focus.
- Open another one, let's say a browser. Now the browser is in focus.
- Click on the browser's taskbar entry. Now nothing is in focus.
Expected result: If you do the same not using RetroBar, the Notepad gains focus, as expected.
I had never even realized that I do this sometimes, but since using RetroBar, so many times I just started typing (into notes, excel sheets, discord, whatever) only to realize I'm not actually typing anything.
