Retrobar randomly stealing 'focus' from all other programs?

See title; Windows 10 Pro.

I love RetroBar, it's incredibly attractive and does what it does well.
However; there's a pretty big problem. It keeps stealing the focus from active windows; when writing or coding, this is a massive issue.
I wasn't sure what was going on at first, used Windows Focus Tracker and noticed what seemed to be going on.

To describe the issue...

I'll be typing or doing something, the various programs with 'focus' on the bar will fade, as if none of them are active.
Since RetroBar isn't a program itself, no program appears to be active. I cannot isolate how or why RetroBar is doing this behaviour.
Exiting RetroBar seems to fix the issue, for now.

Any insights would be appreciated; if the issue is reproducible, I'll gladly try to do anything I can to help fix it.
Best.

I'm having this issue too. It's made debugging my software much harder, and generally made Windows more of a pain to use. RetroBar is still awesome, though!

having this problem too. its reeeeeeeaaaaally annyoing, and can only be (temporarily) solved by closing and restarting retrobar. is there a solution to this?

i have noticed this issue while typing in editor, typing address in chrome, changing names of files and folders.

I would like to investigate. Could you please turn on debug logging in RetroBar properties, and then after the problem occurs next, could you please open %localappdata%\RetroBar\Logs and attach the newest log file here?

just had the error again. closed retrobar and attached the newest logfile. behaviour happened in the last minute or two. 2023-07-02_182349701.log

EDIT: restarted retrobar again afterwards, and the error occured again. attaching another log file, from a shorter period of time. directly after the first log. 2023-07-02_190650279.txt

Sorry, not yet. I reviewed the logs and see when RetroBar is becoming focused, but unfortunately RetroBar itself isn't doing the focusing. It could be some interaction with the system or another running application that RetroBar's behavior is triggering.
