How to stabilize FPS at 1000

Open tarimren-admin opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

I am using ReHLDS 3.12.0.780 and Regamedll 5.21.0.576 on a Windows Server 2016 Datacenter operating system. My sys_ticrate is set to 1100, but after executing 'stats', the FPS fluctuates between 490-510 and cannot reach 1000。 I am not very good at English, please forgive me!

Hi, I'm not sure that you can get more in windows. Use linux instead.

you will never get more than that. afaik it is a windows design issue(?). nobody use windows for re/hlds servers. forget windows if you want to run hlds servers.

You need mm_timer metamod

what are the consequences of setting 1100 on linux? 1000 has a high fluctuation (500-900). with 1100, fps stays stably above 1000 for me. does it improve hitreg to have constantly 1000 fps or is it a waste of resources? what about the articles saying linux needs 10000 (10k)? and all this in combination with pingboost 2 or 3? any reliable links on these topics?

thx but I see no benefit of using this, the discussion there is also divided. as I said I have stable 1000-1100 fps. I do not have a fps problem. I want best hitreg. I see the author talking even about 10k or 100k fps, what is the reason to calculate so many fps? the bigger the better? calc excessive fps just for a high number takes resources and clients get less updates etc. ping goes up. is there evidence that > 1000 fps = better shooting hit reg? what really improves hit registration?

if still needed, set sys_ticrate to 10000 or 0 and you also need 3.0+ ghz cpu
