as a drawing program, there are too few brushes available. It is hoped that a brush engine like krita can be implemented.

Drawpile 2.2 comes with 206 brushes built-in, which is more than Krita comes with. So "too few" is presumably not actually the issue. If you don't have all those brushes, you may still be on the older version 2.1. You can download the most recent version on https://drawpile.net/.

Krita also doesn't just have one brush engine, it has 16:

Which brushes are you missing specifically?

With mypaint brushes Drawpile has got alot of ways of making brushes now! I've made chain brushes, Dripping brushes, Manga Texture Light ETC. Which isn't few only things I could see as "missing" Are Grid, And Clone(?) brushes. Aka stamp and Pattern brushes. And better blur and lines between brush strokes But mostly just stamp and pattern.

Everything else can be made with my paint brushes I believe. If we wanted to implement Krita brushes I believe these things would be the most/only things wanted, Also the things we don't already have with Mypaint engine lol.

Support for Photoshop brushes could also be potentially added, since it's already a thing in Krita.

There are many artists who have purchased Photoshop brushes (that they use regularly) and would like to be able to utilize them.
