Integrate with pdfbroker.io

Open dragotin opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

https://www.pdfbroker.io provides a html to PDF service via API - namely a weasyprint service. Kraft should have an integration for that, so that there is no need for a local weasyprint installation any more. That would make packaging and also porting to other platforms way easier.

pdfbroker.io has a fair price model and as a swedish company, complies to GDPR.

I don't know whether turning over billing documents to third parties (GDPR or not) is a good idea in every case.

Some of my invoices contain sensitive information (including license keys) I do not want to end up in anyone's hands.

Of course, that is not everybodies cup of tea. On the other hand that company follows Europian/Swedish data protection regulations, and using a service like this will simplify setup of Kraft tremendously..

It's not the GDPR itself that worries me. Invoices can touch NDAs between me, client and the entity paying the bill.

In IT security assessments of larger enterprises it is often granted that the detailed information is not published in any way. Invoicing regulations demand that detailed breakdowns of time spent are/have to be part of the invoice. NDAs are very specific on the details about (temporary) storage of documents generated in the context of projects. This often includes the strict requirement not to use any cloud-integrated office suites...
