New Document - Add already positions to a specific document type

Is it possible to add positions to a specific document type by default? So creating a "New Document" which includes already 10 items/positions?

As a lot of software isn't offering this there is the usual workaround of creating a customer "Donald Default" containing the template you need and copying from there... But a template system would of course seem much better...
