Documentation on manifest lacks any technical explanation of manifest file

Description

.Net is no longer restricted to Visual Studio for development. Therefore, any documentation regarding manifest or .csproj files ought to reflect and explain the actual schema of the manifest file itself (or link to such documentation). Additional information specific to Visual Studio Code would be nice, but at the very least a reference to the schema should be considered minimal acceptance criteria.
