The PR doesn't look ready to go right now (it needs CLA signed, it has some unwanted changes, merge conflicts). But @rbhanda @dcwhittaker I do notice that the supported OS files are not following the same convention from one version to the other. e.g. https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/main/release-notes/6.0/supported-os.md https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/main/release-notes/5.0/5.0-supported-os.md

Is this something we wanna fix?

7.0 went with the same file structure as 6.0, given 5.0 and earlier versions are out of support now I'm closing this PR.
