Install doesn't start - MBP Late 2011 (8,1) - patcher version 1.4.7 - Catalina version 10.15.7

I was failing to have my MBP 2011 initiate the install. The progress bar after selecting the USB install media would take a very long time to fill and then sit there.

I tried several USB sticks and go the same issue.

MBP was sitting on High Sierra prior to attempting this install. Firmware update PKG was also applied (just in case)

I found an old Catalina install DMG (10.15.5) and downloaded an old release of this patcher (1.4.4). This then allowed me to create a working USB stick that would proceed to install

Had this same issue and spend all day on this. Had to run the patchier directly from the .DMG image with a right-click and open. Then downloaded Catalina via the patcher app and then created bootUSB (USB HDD) immediately without touching the downloaded installer in the downloads folder at all.
