EFI Boot don't works
Hi dosdude, I hava a problem with my Mac, it's a mid-2007 iMac7,1 with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, i installed the latest version of Catalina from MacOS Catalina Patcher and I installed it in a bootable drive, an USB stick of 16GB free. When I restart my Mac and i press Alt it shows me the different volumes i can boot from, when i select EFI boot with the logo of Catalina it shows me the apple logo without the loading bar. I've been waiting 2 hours and the loading bar still don't appears i just see the apple logo.
I restarted my mac I cleared my USB stick with Disk Utility i downloaded again MacOS Catalina Installer from catalina patcher and I installed it again in my USB stick. When i restard my mac and press Alt and i select EFI Boot, it stills shows me only the Apple logo without the loading bar and i waited again 45 minutes it shows anything just the Apple logo
Arent you supposed to push the option key?

Alt and option key is same, yes I did when I restarted my mac 2 times
Have you patched with Mac OS Post Install ?
For iMac7,1 this is normal behavior if the CPU is not replaced with a Penryn based cpu.
See this video https://youtu.be/PsBtkrqjU9Y for more information about replacing the CPU
Hi, on MacBook Pro 5,3 try double boot with Ubuntu, always charge the startup on the Catalina efi patch. Sometimes can boot with the esc key on the stratup, but if I boot using shortcuts. I can't acces the efi boot of Linux. So it's a command line that let us rebuild the boot list of software like Linux, recovery or mac on the partitions with the shell on the strat up?
Great product and try to learn on my MacBook Air I can show the dual boot with the alt command, but not idea how I can install both efi starts up in differetn parts of the partitions.
Press alt on boot to see the menu.
And your solution might be refind + the RefindRegular theme. Could you explain what you want? @javiersconde
Hi @Gred123456 you need a cpu upgrade such as the T8300 or the T9300/9500 (Don't believe the lowendmac article, the T8300 WILL work). You probably also want 4/6GB RAM and an SSD.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009), 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, ssd ADATA SU630 Media 500GB, 400 macOS APFS, 100GB linux, at the end download the EFI Boot and install via terminal on MACOS to install. Found that only work one partition with linux, via recovery menu. but all work ok....
Ok...
