MacBook Pro 4,1 Backlight not working under Catalina

Hello,

I just installed macOS Catalina on my MacBook Pro A1260/Early 2008 (SSD, 4GB RAM, 2.5GHz), but when I try to turn on the keyboard backlight it comes up with the osd but there is a blank brightness level bar and the lights do not come on - I have installed all of the patches that are optimal for this machine, but it still doesn't work - any ideas?

I have the same problem. Before, I was able to use the keyboard backlight, but I am not anymore, after reinstalling catalina.
