Bluetooth Issue & Crashing (WIFI Patch)
I've been having issues with Bluetooth and crashing with my 2011 12,1 iMac.
Bluetooth:
When I connect airpods to my 12,1 imac they work fine, but if I disconnect and connect them to another device they don't reconnect (I have to pair them again). I think this is someting with the "Legacy Atheros Wifi Patch"
Crash:
My imac will randomly restart (Without Chime) Using the "caffeine" command would temporarily fix it but It would happen again about a day later. Another thing I noticed was:
When it restarted (I was usually in chrome) if I didn't wait a few seconds before restoring my tabs, wifi would stop working. I noticed it would be fixed if I ran wireless diagnostics, then connected and disconnected from a vpn. (I also found this odd) This made me think it might also have to do with the wifi/bluetooth patch.
Do you think it would be fixed if I upgrade to a "BCM94360CD" bluetooth 4 and wifi card (This would be in a newer mac with official support) Then I would reinstall macOS without the "Legacy Atheros Wifi Patch"?
