Frequent Launch Screen Freezes After Updating Mods
When running the game in borderless fullscreen mode, a frequent screen freeze occurs on startup. The issue arises if the system does not immediately focus on the game window upon launch. If focus is then manually switched to the game window after it has started, the screen will freeze without fail. No errors or unusual entries are recorded in the logs.
Testing Environment: This issue occurs with only the following mods enabled:
PGPatcher_Output Frame Generation Cloud Shadows Skylighting Grass Collision Grass Sampler Fix Grass Lighting Screen Space Shadows Light Limit Fix Subsurface Scattering Wetness Effects Water Effects Screen Space GI Terrain Shadows - Heightmaps Terrain Shadows Community Shaders Faultier's PBR Skyrim AIO 2k All in one Address Library (Anniversary Edition) SSE Engine Fixes for 1.6.1170 trainwreck SKSE AE
Have shaders fully compiled? One the shaders are compiling the Window may take some time to update depending on cpu threads.

Yes, the shader compilation has already been completed. And prior to this, I also cleared the cache and configurations
@FlyDut does this only happen in borderless-fullscreen? What happens in other window modes? Does the game get to the main menu if you don't switch focus after launching, and then freeze only when focus changes? You can try SSE Display Tweaks mod for configuration of display, if necessary.

Yes, when I use exclusive fullscreen, there's no issue with focus switching. However, I've heard that exclusive fullscreen doesn't work very well with DLSS. When I use SSE Display Tweaks, this problem doesn't occur, but I noticed the instructions for CS frame generation mention some compatibility issues with Display Tweaks and recommend not using it together. I tried turning off CS frame generation individually, and the game was able to gain window focus immediately after launch, so the screen freezing issue doesn't seem to happen anymore.
Must have missed this ticket when looking for this issue (sorry about that). However I am experiencing a slightly different behavior: #1440 For me it does not work using borderless window mode and neither when there's no focus loss when starting up.
Also the display freeze happens already while compiling the shaders. However, if I wait long enough, the shared compilation will finish. You can see that be frequently using ALT-TAB, as pressing two times ALT-TAB will update the display.
It is only the display that freezes, I can even load the last save game, but I will not see it, just hear it ;)
I checked: For me Display Tweaks was already enabled & exclusive fullscreen is enabled, too. Just to see what will happen I disabled Display Tweaks.
--> Suddenly it seems to be working now, after disabling DisplayTweaks :) <--
For me this started with version 1.2, 1.1.x versions are working fine.
Ok... turns out that disabling 'DisplayTweaks' simply caused the 'Borderless Fullscreen' mode to get activated.
Once I switched back to non-windowed mode in Skyrim settings, it was broken again.
AFAIK I don't have frame generation enabled. AFAIK it does not even work for AMD grafics... I wonder whether I can see this in the UserSettings?
@FlyDut Can you shared your DisplayTweaks configuration which you were using? As I understand you managed to run this in non-windowed, exclusive fullscreen mode?
I tried installing Frame Generation, enable it and disable it again. It does not help, I can only use Community Shaders 1.3.6 in Windowed mode, which means a major FPS drop.
Is this expected?

Sorry for the late reply. You can try this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/144637. I've been using it in combination with SSE Display.
