Or simple one: show a menu item --> click --> call a service api(in ruby/nodejs/Erlang) --> parse github releases/tags --> show update / no-update.

@dongyuwei I'm very familiar with how input works, but it's possible to put hallelujahIM on Homebrew so that it could be updated via a cmd? For example, https://formulae.brew.sh/cask/sogouinput
